iPhone 4S Bluetooth query using a motorcycle intercom

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all, new to the forum, many thanks for any help.

Just bought a pair of Scala Rider bluetooth intercoms for  mine and my partners crash helmets. All seems to work well on voice, BUT, everytime I receive a text, the iPhone issues some sort of notification to the headsets (via Bluetooth) and the intercom turns off (mutes) the FM radio I am listening to for about 12-20 seconds.

Obviously I expect this to happen when I receive a voice call, but NOT when I get a text.

Is there anyway I can turn this off ?

Many thanks............

Think I might just pop into my very local O2 shop and check it out with their Guru !

Hi and welcome to the forum.

If theirs nothing in the manual that came with the system or online via Google then maybe their is a forum somewhere in connection where you can post to get a reply from like minded people.

I've not come across the situation you speak of before and I don't believe it's a network setting.

What notification gets sent ?

You can go into settings , notification centre and there you can stop the banner alerts etc.

The Bluetooth on an iPhone as you know is a very simplistic affair.

You would have to turn off sms notifications on the phone if that's possible on an iPhone? I know you can on android but not sure about iOS......
