iOS 7 : Available on Wednesday 18/9/13.

Hi,

iOS7 from Apple will be available for download on Wednesday 18th of September 2013.

The update will be available for :

iOS 7.jpg

Now is the time to carry out some homework on this release, as its not just an update to iOS6 , its a full UI overhaul.

Ensure your idevice battery is 80% +

If your low on internal memory then think about deleting unused apps, music, videos, pictures, tones and e mails etc, to allow the update to proceed.

First update your iTunes to the newest availabe version.

You can achieve this by opening up iTunes and clicking on.... 'Check for Updates'

Carry out a sync of your idevice.

Then create a back up to iTunes and iCloud, or both.

Then when you hook up your idevice to iTunes and click on the device name, if the iOS7 update is available, you will see the appropriate message saying so.

Be patient as Apples servers will be maxed out, and as such the update may not be available to you at first. Keep checking.

Ensure you have left enough down time for the update to complete.

Sit back and wait  slight_smile

Any users who have jail-broken their idevices are advised to abstain from updating.

If you plug your phone into you PC an open up iTunes it will show you are on the latest version 6.1.4, and will not update at the moment this way....

Thus in order to update you need to do this on your phone within Settings->General->Software Update...it should then pick up the IOS7 software.

Mine took about 10mins to download it and then 15mins preparing update...now at the verifying update stage and have the apple logo and the status bar...

N.B If your phone shows an error message when you have clicked on software update then clear your cookies and cache in Safari Settings->Safari and clear cookies and cache at the bottom...and then try Settings->General-Software Update again.

Good luck:smileyhappy:!!

Done but now need to download an iTunes update as the phone won't now work with 11.0 (didn't realise there was an 11.1 release).

You should have been prompted to download the new itunes before ioS7 would download and update.

Snap.

Update to iTunes coming down now followed by iOS7

Mines failed 😞

At what stage ?

Mines got 35 mins to go.

A few minutes in. I tried several times after and got an error.

I'm currently downloading again with 5 hours remaining. Those Apple servers must be taking a severe hammering.
