TETHERING MY IPHONE TO MY LAPTOP PROBLEMS

BAFFLED,

According to both my Iphone 6s and my laptop i have been able to get them to recognise each other , however i am unable to use the data from my phone to connect to the internet via my laptop. i have the hotspot enabled on both devices and cant seem to find the reason for it, does anyone have any ideas?

Not sure what process you have followed, but it should be:

1 - Enable hotspot on iPhone.

2 - Note password generated by iPhone.

3 - Enable wifi on laptop.

4 - Search for the name of the hotspot generated by iPhone and press on "connect"

5 - Enter the password you noted above.

Your laptop should then connect to the phone's hotspot.

You may also want to check the box that says "Metered Connection" which will prevent windows from downloading large updates whilst using the phone as a data source.

Are you on a tariff that allows tethering? I seem to remember there were some tariffs that did not...

The option would not appear on phone unless it was allowed by tariff.
