Hi, everyone.
My iPhone 4S was working fine up until around lunchtime today, when I suddenly noticed there were no bars on the signal. I'm used to the signal strength coming and going, but this has stayed flat all afternoon and evening. I can't call out, and when I dial my iPhone (switched on) from my landline, it goes straight to voicemail.
I've switched the phone off and on again (twice), and I've removed and re-inserted the SIM card. No change. I haven't yet attempted a complete restore, but is there anything else I can try first?
It seems to be a problem with the phone, as my partner's Blackberry uses O2 and has been working fine.

Hello,
I've had the same problem this morning on my 4 (not 4s). Ive just updated to OS 6.0.1 from 5, then once update is fully finished and applied restarted it again and it has fixed it. Hope this helps.

Try restarting your phone. (Holding home + power for 15 seconds)
Do you know anyone nearby on O2?

Sorry for not posting this earlier, but Andrew is absolutely right. I tried doing a complete Restore of the phone, and in the process it demanded I update to iOS6. Once I did, the problem went away.
(Apparently this is a known issue with iOS5, but it only occurs occasionally.)
