Slow reception

using either my iPhone 5 tethered, or my O2 mobile hotspot, download speed is really slow.  However, tethered to my wife's Samsung on Virgin / Orange, speed is great.  All the checks suggest that O2 reception and coverage is good.  Any thoughts on this?

Glad you were there to save the day @Cleoriff 😉  I got all the 'you and your fancy smartphones' put downs. I could have come back with the obvious 'it's a network , not a handset issue' but again..I would be ridiculed lol x

There was a downside to all this. All the blokes wanted to use MY phone to check the footie results...and William Hill to put bets on....
