I wanted to ask Siri something so held the home button and nothing!
Siri is on in settings yet I can't access it!

Hold the top button and home button together until the apple logo appears and then let go.
Reset as you know.
Hopefully works.
Edit: Just checked mine and the apple servers are working fine.
