Hi! I've got iPhone 5S locked to O2, I am using Giffgaff right now and I am completely happy with it but I have from time to time use Three SIM card which my employee provide to me to contact with our customers. Screen shows information that SIM card is invalid, tried connecting to iTunes (!) as you recommend but with no results, same thing happening. I tried "unlatching request" on your website but I provide you IMEI and my Giffgaff number, you replied that you dont have that number on your system. What I am suppose to do? Can someone help me? Please. Do I really have to buy O2 SIM, top it up (activate) and then ask again for unlock?

Hi @Bart1

Yes, you need an O2 SIM so the phone can register on the system. https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Unlocking-an-O2-phone-to-use-a-different-SIM-card/ba-p/1...

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Please note, if you have a good friend on o2 you can borrow their sim for a couple of hours (or let them borrow your phone, same result) and then request the unlock.
Good luck.

O2 will not unlock until you use it on their network so that the sim registers on their network. Otherwise, why should they?
