I've done a stupid thing.

After getting a new iPhone I listed my old one on FB marketplace.....but I forgot to unlock it first.

I am not sure what to do as the phone has been reset to factory settings. I went to 02 and listed the IME number but this was AFTER I reset the phone.

Hope somebody can advise me to do now. Should I set up the phone up as a new phone again? But I am worried that this will affect my new phone.

I'd really appreciate some advice.

Thank you

@GaryW

O2 stopped locking phones in April 2018 so the XS (September 2018) was never sold locked to O2.

As long as you have removed your Apple ID, turned off find my iPhone and reset it, that's all you need to do.

Your MyO2 won't update for ages, if ever, but it matters not.

Hi MI5

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply.

Does that mean that I can sell my phone as 'unlocked from O2' which is what I wanted to do.

Thank you
