The number that's showing as WA USA cannot be correct. There aren't enough numbers. The number above it with 01253, which is the same as the supposed US number is a number from Blackpool

If I spoofed my number to an American one would the handset know any different?
Like if you spoof a Mac address/IP address, can it reliably be traced back to the original machine?
So unless your handset is extremely clever it's just going to display what it thinks is right, right?
Either way, the companies must be using clever automated diallers to avoid detection.

Well I don't think it's anything other than a marketing call. The key is this in your first post...
I have to redial correctly (I can't return the call). Or it comes as 44 1253 822583, this I get inbound call and then it hangs up?
If it was genuine they would reply...
As @Bambino says it isn't a American number...so that leaves me with only one conclusion really?
