Unfortunately, over the age when technology comes easily :s
I was given a second hand Iphone 3gs which to be honest I dont use for much other than calls/texts/camera/pic messaging. When I first got it I could send and receive pics. Then I stopped being able to do either and at this point I do not know whether I changed any setting by accident or on purpose! I looked online and found info and went in to General/settings/network and checked, all as it should be, didnt bother taking it further. This was a while back, then decided to give it another try. Phoned Customer Service this morning, then texted active, as suggested, got text back with stuff to check. Great! Err now I cannot find 'Networks' on my phone....that too has decided to flee a sinking ship! I know it was there before, so where has it gone?! and what do I do to check if the info I have been sent is the same?!
Sorry for such a basic and boring question but I'm still coming to terms with the change from videos to DVD's!

An update I have spoken to a very patient lady from o2 customer care. She found the 'Networks' (not where it was before so not totally down to me!) but after giving me the MMS proxy numbers etc (which were actually very different to those texted through from O2) it still didnt work.
She thinks it may be the SIM but cannot really see that, as it has worked before with this SIM.
I have another SIM which I will try later and if it still doesnt work I will hit it with a hammer...I mean reset to factory settings. If still no good will find one of those stores or an O2 shop.
If I reset to factory settings what will I lose?

No need for an apology. Everyone has to start somewhere.
I'm not an iPhone person, but just some hints in general. Sending picture messages can be expensive. You'd probably be better off sending photos via email. When you do eventually find your network settings, unless you have a data plan, be sure your mobile network is switched off when you're not using it, and that it's off at night, as your apps will update in the background and you could wind up with a charge for that too. Best thing to do is do any updates over a WiFi connection.

Thanks for the replies
I'm Pay and Go.
I've tried 'settings' 'general' but then there's no 'network'?! (although I know there was at some other time in the dark, distant past)
I've tried 'reset network setting' - nothing happened!
I have twice tried Customer services and to hang on for assistance but they are always SO busy, that, patient as I usually am, I give up (that's why I was so pleased with the 'active' option. But as I cannot find 'network' to check the numbers thats no good!
