No 3g on iphone 4s

I can use my phone normally..calls, text  and it connects to wifi at home and at work, but it has absolutely no 3G at all. 

The APN is set to idata.o2.co.uk

Has it always been like this? Or developed the problem?

always..I think...i didn't take much notice the first week I had it, I wasn't using it while i waited for my old number to switch over...then the switch happened on crash day...then i waited 2 days for service..but definitely from then, no 3g

Have you tried resetting newtork settings and rebooting the phone ?? I used to just put my 4s into aeroplane mode and switch back if i lost 3g and it sorted problem.

Try restoring it from iTunes I'm wondering if there's a software issue.

Have you used the service checker to see if 3G is available in your area?

I put it into airplane mode...and hey presto it works..tyvm
