I have lost my phone and I was wondering whethero or not I would still be able to get all my whatsapp chats back.

If you had back ups enabled in whatsapp settings you can download all your chats to another phone when you log in to whatsapp again.
More importantly, have you reported your loss to o2?

@Anonymous As per the suggestions given to you by @MI5, the loss should also be reported to the police. Having the IMEI number of the phone will help too.

One other thing, check any home contents insurance to see if you were covered.
