Lost incoming email alert on iPhone and ipad

Hi. I have recently lost the alert for new incoming emails on both my iPhone and email. How do I restore it please?

Settings >Mail >Accounts. Check your fetch frequency as push may not be supported by your mail server.

I did actually check the sounds and in fact changed it a couple of times but to no avail. My husband's iPhone has the same problem. We only get the email when we go into mail and they then appear.

After doing as advised, have you tried powering down the phone(home button & power button together till it switches off)

You should get the apple log come back on the screen. Once it has rebooted, check to see if fault has been rectified.

You might have to turn off push and use fetch.
I set mine on 30min check intervals.

Just noticed the"tick" against pus is grey not blue does this mean we no longer have the push facility? Sorry a bit of a novice with settings etc.
