The last line in the article is a bit grim
If you want to avoid rendering your phone useless, maybe hold off on downloading the new update for now.
Probably of no help at all to those who already have!!

Glad I don't have apple anything!
Also looks like a person needs to be well aquainted with the intricacies of the workings of an iphone to keep it going ~ sim out sim in ~ reset ~ too much for me!

just popped up on my phone. Turned off auto update so it doesn’t put it on my phone 12.1.1 is good enough for me

No problems for me on 12.1.2 or 12.1.3 beta
Apple are still signing 12.1.1 so downgrading is possible for those with issues if you get the ipsw file from ipsw.me
