Iphone water damage

I have an iphone 4 on pay as you go, my cat has just knocked it off my knee into a cup of coffee :(, the top half went in, so no liquid got in through the charger bit, it now wont come on, ive put it in rice like many say, are there any other options, is there a chance of it working again as I bought it outright for £400+ and have no insurance!

Also just incase, does anyone know how much an iphone4 16gb is on pay as you go? I cannot find the price anywhere online, it just directs me to stores that have it in stock.

Thankyou

Well for the pure fun of it. it wouldn't turn on again. I flushed it by spraying iso solvent through the docking port.(holding it upside down)

Other than a brief flash of flame where I apparently didn't air it enough:/ its now working again:)

Time to drown it again:)

I wonder how long it would keep working?

I've resurrected a couple of friends phones and one of them carried on for a couple of months then gave up.

Hmm very good point. However I don't think my interest in this would last such a long time frame haha.

Ill give it a week of use then drown it slight_smile

I have an old Nokia that was subjected to a baptism a couple of years ago and had to be replaced after trying the to dry it out in the airing closet for a couple of days.

It's been in the grandchildrens' toybox untouched for a couple of years. I decided to chuck it out but connected it to a charger before doing so and amazingly it sprung to life! Stuck a P&G sim in it and it works fine.

So, the secret is to let it dry out for 2 years!

Haha brilliant:) I wonder how many people would accept this as a response in future threads:)

"You have to leave it for two years in a warm dry place. After which it will spring back to life don't worry:)"

My GF accidentally put my iphone 3G (yeah I know its old but worked fine before!) through the wash as I left it in my jacket. Was dead when I got it out. Tried to dry out for 2 days in rice and nothing, still dead.

My question is if I go to the Apple store and get it replaced will I get a 3G (do they still have them?) or can I pay a bit more and get a newer phone. Obviously not expecting to get a 5 or 4s but would happily pay a bit more to get reconditioned a 4 or 3GS, or is it only like for like ?

Cheers

It will be like for like even down to the colour. I asked if i could have a white 4 and they said the system grabs the exact replacement from stock so you cant make any changes - like for like.
