Iphone Contract

Hey guys, i was wondering if you can clarify something for me.

I dropped my Iphone 4s in the sink the other day (i know, stupid), and i'm pretty sure its dead. It wasn't insured (also stupid) and i know Apple don't do water repairs. My question to you guys is this.

I'm aware i'd have to pay off the contract, which i can do, but would it affect my ability to take out a new contract, having paid off this one in bulk? I'm thinking in terms of credit ratings and the likes.

Also, i'm thinking of switching networks, because i text internationally a lot and 02 don't have any way of catering for that, only calls. So in addition, if i took a new contract out with a different network, would they be able to use information from my 02 contract against me, (so not allow me to take one a contract with them), if at all?

I hope this isn't too complicated to understand but im at a loss as to where to go from here, so i could really use the advice.

Thanks in advance.

Rach

If you pay off your contract, it has no effect on your credit rating.

Apple offer out of warranty replacements at a cost depends on how long you have left on contract and what the current asking price of a 4s is on eBay .

you may be able to get it replaced and sell it on eBay with 3 months warranty and that may help to buying out the contract.

To re iterate 02 won't try to stop another network opening a contract and you can ask for the PAC Code in order to keep your number. Just keep the account open until the transfer has been completed. They may try to keep you as a customer by throwing some retention deals your way !

Hope you get the tariff and handset your wanting.
