Iphone 5s unable to connect to carrier in the USA

Hi, I'm currently on holiday from the UK in Florida. Since arriving yesterday I've not been able to use my phone as a phone - it's permanently just saying searching. I've tried turning airplane mode on and back off, as well as a soft and hard reset. In settings, the carrier option appears for a second and then disappears. When I do get into it, I turn it off automatic and see if it will search, but it still doesn't come up with anything. Any other ideas? I don't really want to do a restore if I can help it.
Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated

Sorry guys, just back On my way! wifi. I think it's sort of sorted itself out to a degree. It's managed to connect to AT&T for a bit today, so I'm just gonna put it down to being temperamental and enjoy it when it works. I guess it's not a bad thing that you can't be disturbed while you're on holiday slight_smile

Have you got international roaming enabled on your account?

To be honest, I haven't a clue. Where would I find that out? I've never had a problem when in other countries in Europe, and my partners iphone seems to connect fine

Also in the phones settings look at

Settings , Data Roaming.

Make sure it's toggled on.

Data roaming settings are on, but doesn't seem to make a difference 😞

You would need to ring Cs or use live chat to find out about your account.

http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Or if your phone is unlocked use a local sim until you return. No Possible big bills to come home to.

Data roaming has nothing to do with making calls or overall network connection, so won't help you 😞
Try holding the power and home button together until the Apple logo appears on screen - This will just soft reset the phone and won't loose anything at all.
When you do a manual search for networks are you saying no networks appear at all to choose from?

Due to the time difference and normal holiday routine we may have to wait until the OP comes back to us.
