Facebook tap to post not working

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have since getting my iPhone 5, been able to use the Facebook tap to post feature in the Notification Centre. But its a little while since using it last and I don't know when the problem started.

Basically when I swipe down the Notification Centre, and then touch the tap to post for Facebook, I get the following shown:

IMG_0041.PNG

However, the Facebook app works fine. Also the tap to tweet for Twiiter in the Notification Centre works fine too.

I've tried deleting my Facebook account off of my iPhone, deleted the Facebook app, turned the iPhone off and then back on, re-installed the app and logged in, but the problem is still there.

I've also tried the Facebook tap to post in the Notification Centre on my iPad and I have the same problem on there too.

Is any one else experiencing this problem?

I expect its just a temporary issue with either Apple and or Facebook, I was just curious to see if others are experiencing the same issue as me.

My mam had got an iPhone 4S, so I'm going to try using her iPhone with my Facebook details and see if the problem happens on her iPhone.

I'll report back with the outcome.

Well I've tried logging into the Settings, Facebook section on my mams iPhone with my Facebook account.

I get the exact same problem on my mams iPhone.

I also tried with the new Facebook account as well, which I created last night (which was allowing me to tap to post until earlier today) on my mams iPhone, but the problem is the same on my mams iPhone.

This it totally head battering :manfrustrated:

I can't find any dissimilarities 😞

Arrgh. I'd love to see a big green tick on this thread already:(

Erm ok you mentioned when you tried to register your number on the new account it broke the tap to post process.

Any chance you have another number you could try to link to your old account? Just to see if there's an underlying issue.

I've never used book face:)

However on Facebook you can use your mobile number as authentication they text you a code you can enter.

Was thinking if account setting seem ok, hardware is fine as is hardware. It's got to be a security issue somewhere. (Which would explain not being able to use another's phone for it)

So... Maybe create another new account but don't do this mobile number authentication...... And then see if you can tap to post - just an idea wink

He has and it worked until adding the number which conflicted with the original account.

So I'm hoping by swapping the account number out he can prove whether there is an authentication issue with the number.

I can't seem to find a way to remove a number from the Facebook account all together. (Presume that should give the desired effect)

There's still the evil spirit in his account:) (that's not really the jurisdiction of this forum)

Fingers crossed.

Thanks for your efforts Liquid.

I could try and use my girlfriend's mobile number (she isnt on Facebook). I'll see if there is a way to delete my number first on the security settings on Facebook, but I'm almost certain there isnt.

I'll add my girlfriend's number and post back with the outcome.
