So when I placed my preorder (and paid off my refresh) this morning I saw that the estimate for the phone delivery would be up to 2 weeks for the Rose Gold plus 256GB (the one I ordered) but now when I go to the store to check whether I picked the right colour (the black really does look nice but I've decided I was right to go for Rose Gold) it says orders will be delivered on the 16th ... so those who preordered this morning have to wait 2 weeks but those who preorder right now don't? I'm confused :Z

The most frustrating thing for me and the thing that I think is wrong is that stock is made available to walk in and purchase in store when you can't fulfil all of your pre-order obligations? That part of the frustration is not down to Apple.
I understand this is not your doing but by 'you' I am refering to O2 as a whole.

I rang a few o2 stores and they all had phones availiable for walk ins but no Jet blacks.... doesnt make any sense.

Just got a text
"We are sorry to say that we have still not received your new iPhone.
We realise how frustrating this news will be and we'll continue to work with Apple to get you your new iPhone as soon as we can.
We'll update you again on Thursday, or sooner if we receive news."
I ordered a Jet Black 256GB, 9/9 got confirmation email at 9:30.
Am I looking at weeks?

Got the text at 10:02 despite having cancelled my pre order yesterday and purchased a 128gb matte black as a walk in upgrade in store yesterday and my pre order as showing as cancelled on myo2. Like mentioned a coup,e of posts above I understand Apple may be to blame for the most part but O2 are responsible for deciding to release so many handsets for store stock before fulfilling already paid for pre orders. I pre order a DVD from amazon, they don't charge me until it's sent to me, not take my money on the day over order, seemingly within minutes. The store mine was supposed to be delivered to received 7 of 40 click and collect orders for launch day. I decided to stay with O2 because they do at least give me the best coverage in the locales I frequent. But the experience has left a very bitter taste. I'll be chancing it next release and going around the stores on launch day as a walk in.

Well my saga continues, after being promised a call back last night which didn't come I've now been given an email address and direct phone number for a real person at o2... maybe some of them are actuallly doing some work
Lets see how this goes....

I've cancelled now. Phoned CS on 202. The woman was very polite and apologetic but it's just not good enough to continue selling the phones in store when pre-orders are sat twiddling their thumbs.
