Hi all i am new here i just had a argument on o2 chat as the i phone is taking all the data within 3 days of getting it i turn of my mobile at night but it just vanishes in past i suffered with this as i can still get emails and i message when over limit as o2 just capped it and put you on a slower service but i just been told that this has now been stopped so after 3 days i cant contact my disabled brother via i message i cant search for jobs and i cant recieve emails on my searching for a new home i find this is totally blocking my rights and o2 have changed my contract as this service was available when i signed up. my brother only has a i pod so the only way he can communicate with me is via i message. i checked on the o2 web site and it still shows that speeds will be reduce and also on my o2 it says the same so how can they say they have now frozen all data access when you go over??
sorry for the long sentance but i am deeply upset as i cant message my brother no more.

Hi.
02 have just instigated an existing clause from throttled speeds to it now being turned off until you buy a bolt or wait for your allowance to refresh at the end of the month.
Use WiFi which will save data usage over the month too.

You can do all those things either over wifi or by buying a new data bolt on. If you are finding your current bolt on is insufficient for your needs you may also be able to increase the monthly allowance depending on the tariff you are currently on. You'll be able to see all your options in myO2 or by calling them on 202

1 please tell us which version of ios you have, as since version 7 you can see what is eating your data by app and system services
2 what tariff are you on with how much data.
3 each month on billing day you can reset the iphone counters to check what o2 say you are using and what the iphone says it is using
4 as above you can add extra data but unless you only have a 100mb bolton I find it hard to explain 3 days normal usage using 500mb if that is your data bolton size

hi i get 1gb data a month i dont have access to wifi so rely solely on this phone i have increased it to 2gb in past but that just gives me an extra 2 days in past i have even had the phone switched off (due to no charger) and when i turned it back on the data was all gone i have the i phone 4 8gb refurb and pay 27 a month for unlimited calls and text with 1 gb data and i have it on the last software.
