I have recently inherited an iPhone 3GS (replacing a Samsung Galaxy Ace). Everything transferred and set up ok, including the switch of 500MB mobile data bolt on for the Apple device. Unfortunately, where I was struggling to use half of that allocation with the Samsung, I have now had a message from O2 within little more than a week of changing, to say that I have reached my limit. Following good advice I have been switching off 3G when not required, closing down any open Apps when not in use etc., but was alarmed on viewing the data usage on my bill to see amounts of 100MB + being used in one day - what is happening?

Turning 3g off only slows data usage on an iphone turn off mobile / cellular data off to prevent unwanted data use away from wifi (but stops mms working)
