I will try my best to explain this the best that I can......
When I get a text or a notification, the background/wallpaper goes blurry. The same happens when I make a call, the contacts picture goes blurry, but it doesn't happen when I receive a call. I presume it is meant to be like that but it wasn't like this prior to the ios 7 update.
I know this may be regarded as a fancy feature or something that people like but I don't particularly like it. Does anybody know if it is possible to turn it off? I know other features of ios7 can be turned off but up to now I am unable to find anything to turn this off, or if it is even possible?

In order to remove blur effects in iOS 7, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Increase Contrast > On.
If you do that, the backround will turn black, no more blur but also when you call someone, the backround will also be black.

It's an Apple feature, you're supposed to like it!

My "reduce motion" is on and my backround/contact pic is still blurry..

I also already have reduce motion enabled and it makes no difference but thanks for the suggestion MI5.
Not all Apple features are loveable perksie lol - it just depends on user preferences and if it's their cup of tea or not.
It's not a major issue, I just don't particularly like it. I guess I will have to wait for the update and hope that it includes an option to change this feature.

I'm well aware of that, which is why I use an alternative, among many other reasons.

Normally i'd say i'd like to see who i'm talking to (if it's my contacts) but i guess that is what facetime is for lol.
I'll give it a go now and see if it works.
