Hello, I was first in my local O2 store today to order the iPhone 5S. I paid £329.99 up front for the phone and I have to wait 6 weeks for it!!!! Why do I have to wait 6 weeks for the phone when the online orders show a delivery date of the 24th September 2013. This is redicilous!!!! I have never known anything like it. I'm an O2 customer and because I want to upgrade early to a O2 Refresh contract I have to either pre-order the phone in store or by phone. I can't do it online. And I have to wait six weeks. Yet, if I am a new customer who wants to order the phone online I can get it on the 24th September. Where is the customer loyalty in that!!!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but.....
As far as I know the O2 stores weren't open until 9am last Friday (at least mine wasn't) but Online orders were open from 8am so it's possible that thousands were ordered before the stores opened in which case those that ordered instore (me included) might have a long wait....

My in store order is still not showing in my account. I have e-mails confirming and a receipt but it would be nice to actually see in my account what I paid them for even though I won't get my hands on it for a while.

Same here DAW
I ordered my 32g Space Grey at 8:15 AM on Launch Day from my local O2 shop, I also had the confirmation email.
but like you nothing is showing in my orders.
I have contacedt the shop to see if the was any update on the status of my order. and they said it was out of there hands, and O2 would be in touch directly with me.

Hmm, I too was advised I would get the open discount and it was best to continue with the order in store and possibly wait 3-6 weeks rather than wait and find out if my order could be done on line. The assistant could have done the refresh upgrade for me and then we could have done the on line order but she was hesitant to do so as she wanted confirmation from whoever she phoned that this was okay. At that time I wanted to pay the full amount for the phone and have the lowest tarrif keeping my monthly outgoings down. We'd actually attempted to do this on line but the system was sticking and not letting it progress to upgrade
I had to sign up for the next level down but she insisted I'd get the 30% off, now it seems I will not. Not the assistant's fault but on Friday obviously branches were of the impression the discount was available - and to be honest why shouldn't it be? Why is the iphone 5S exempt from getting a discount as we are mostly paying a lot more upfront for this phone. (Mind you I did notice that if I had paid the full amount for the phone the cost of the device would have been £80 more than I have so can't really complain).

I would like to know why O2 didn't have any 5S phones last Friday when clearly other networks and Carphone Warehouse did.
Also I will not be happy at all if O2 have my £300+ for several weeks before I get my phone, surely there must be a law against this ie if you take money upfront you must be able to supply the goods within a "reasonable timeframe". Would 6 weeks (if this is how long it might be) be deemed reasonable?
As a comparison I have pre-ordered various things on Amazon before and Amazon do not take any money until the goods are physically in stock and HAVE BEEN DISPATCHED TO THE CUSTOMER...O2 take note..!

Mate i ordered mine over the phone on the day after they was launched by Apple/
I have had nothing but nonsense from them since, i was told 2-3 initially, then i was told they was in stock? They were showing as in stock online but when i phoned they said ? no sorry its wrong and to disreguard that.
I have phoned every week, the 4 weeks ago i got told i will have in two weeks, im still sitting here waiting only to be told today another 2 weeks. This is disgusting service, we run a buisness with 5 handsets and all have new 5s orders against them.
The last laugh will be on O2 as clearly its time we moved to Vodaphone at least then we might get honest answers

Well theres no law that i know of,but if you change your mind they have to return the money. They shouldnt have taken it it,cause they dont have the product.Think about it if you paid with a credit card the interest would start immediately if you didnt pay the balance.Money should not be taken till dispatched like amazon and many other stores.
