'this phone is switched off'.

I've had 3 people tell me they get 'this phone is switched off'. Tested it this am with person standing next to me. I had strong signal. She is on vodafone. No call, and no text that she sent either. Got another person on voda to call me, same thing. Clearly I have no way of knowing how often this happens. Tried an online chat with a guru, did a restart then a change to network settings and same thing. I don't have time to wait for slow guru chat. Can anyone shed any light please?

I'm inclined to think it's a vodafone porting issue

How long has it been since the number was ported across?

Hmm, it should have settled down by now then!
I'd call CS and ask them to request the porting files again from Voda or it might just be that your account needs resetting.
It's gonna have to be a call to CS either way though and if they can't fix it ask for it to be escalated to Tech Support.

Forget live chat for issues such as this.
When you call, tell them when you ported across, that it appears to have always been an issue and that it only affects callers from Voda network.
They should be able to help you with that info.

Ah if only it were that easy....they told me to phone voda, or my friends to phone voda and finally to complain to get action - I WILL

You need to find that one adviser who will take responsibility to sort this out. Make a complaint and google ceo for both O2 and Voda....email them, works wonders!

It should be simple enough for CS to sort out but it does mean you need to get hold of someone prepared to see it through for you.
