my samsung galaxy Y wont send or receive texts tried sending them and statement appears saying "unable to send message now will send when network is available" I also asked someone to text me and I have not received their message does anyone know what the problem is

My Xperia S says that when it has no network available.

Are you sure you have a signal where you are?

Go into your message settings and check the message centre number, the + sign is important. If it needs changing, reboot the phone after and try sending yourself a text.

checked message settings and they are exactly what you wrote so thats not the problem I'm stumped??? as this happens quite often

That is a general signal issue. I would not expect you to be able to send/receive calls either.....
