sony xperia u screen not working well

Hello there I got my mobile December 2012 and suddenly the touch screen hard to used takes a minute to unlock and when I am using the touch screen keypad different letters appears and hard to touch tooks ages to compose a message>What am I supposed to do?

Back up the phone and do a factory reset, if still no good take it in for repair.

Do a back up and connect to Sony Update Service,

It should say you have the latest firmware but will give you an option to repair the firmware.

Please back up everything first if you do try either myself or MI5 options as both should achieve resolution.
