My wife lost her payg HTC phone and told 02. They barred her phone. She then found her phone in a shop and asked 02 to unbar it. So far,three days later and having been assured by two different people online, that her phone would be OK soon, she is still without a working phone. I am housebound and a mobile is essential. We are going to buy two new payg phones with a different provider because of the awful service.

If you have auto top up enabled just as much damage can be done on PAYG as on contract. It's measures for your financial protection.....

So the phone wasn't IMEI barred? This was the up to 7 days that I posted earlier.

I am personally glad you did bother @Anonymous as I learnt a lot from your post. I had no idea with PAYG accounts that 2 bars were put in place when a phone is reported stolen (as advised by @MI5 )
