I am changing to O2 in order to get wifi calling facility.  The shop was very helpful and set up the new sim and sorted out the PAC to transfer my number.   That was yesterday . . . today I've been informed via SMS to turn off the phone until 6pm.  This is a serious pain!

Is it likely to all be sorted; O2 account with my number by 6pm?

This is the procedure I always recommend.

Once you know the new SIM works, remove it and place your old one back in.

When that disconnects put the new one back in.

If it has not quite transferred just reboot occasionally for the phone to re read the SIM

This will shorten the time you are without.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
