My replacement Sim finally arrived, my phone says sim not connected to network so I cannot receive the texts I needs to activate it.
I am a Pay Monthly customer.
Any ideas on a fix? I have tried every angle, phoned O2 but none of my 'words' provide a result and the call is then ended...

If your old sim is still active, you need to start a sim swap from it to activate the new one Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update
If not, tell us the reason for the replacement sim.
