Hi, just picked up a new Sony XA1 Ultra yesterday, like the phone but have a problem with wifi.  On my work phone (iphone) I am getting 50mbps from the wifi connection at home however with the XA1 I am only getting 20mbps.

Anyone else had this issue?  If so any resolution?

Largely irrelevant anyway.

I would think the iPhone is latching on to 5ghz, the xa1 possibly 2.4ghz.

You can go into router settings and change the parameters for each band and whether in single (20mhz) or dual (20/40mhz)

Nope, sadly no help at all.  I am now at work and the phone is connected to the wifi network on 5ghz and is obtaining half the speed of the iphone 6 sitting next to it.

It also seems to like dropping connection as well and I find I am having to restart it in order to reconnect to wifi and bluetooth.  Then strangely the bluetooth always seems to turn itself off each time I restart the phone which is really annoying.

Looks like it will have to go back.

I'm sorry to hear that @mac_111. It may well be a fault unless @viridis has any other suggestions?

It could unfortunately just be a limitation by the hardware.
Xa1 series is mid range, whereas the best and fastest devices come with higher costs as they have multiple antenna and multi streams for connection.

There does seem to be a slower connection on the mediatek based xa1 phones.
The maximum data transfer rate on WiFi is 150mb/s
Whereas on the upper end models with Qualcomm soc you get 867mb/s.
This would explain the difference as your iPhone 6s uses a higher grade WiFi component.
I've put in an escalation for clarification on the expected WiFi speeds from xa1 series and will post back.
If wifi speed is the priority I would suggest a handset from the xz range which have much much faster connection rates.
