What Version of Android is this?

According to Settings/More/About device my S4 has Android Version 4.4.2 but it does not give that a name such as Kit Kat or Ice Cream Sandwich or whatever other weird names are current.  Can anyone tell me if this version has a name?   I have hooked the phone up to my PC which has Samsung Kies running and that program indicates that my phone has the latest "firmware version".  Does "firmware" in this context mean the same thing as Android/

Silly questions I know but it would be a sad world if everyone were clever.   :O))

No not permanent damage I just wouldn't play around with it unless you really know what your doing that's my view obviously

Personally I wouldn't go playing in an area that I don't understand without something with great rescue skills standing beside me to rescue me from the damage I have caused.

I think you are absolutely right @Anonymous to be cautious.

If you go to System > Apps > All and look for System UI. You should see a red and icon with Android written in an elipitical shape.  This tells you it's Kitkat apart from the build number being 4.4.x.
