I am using Galaxy S4 with Android 4.4.2
I have a video file in .mpg format stored online in Onedrive. I want to play it on my S4 but when I try to open the file only 4 possibilities are offered as shown in the image-
The apps mentioned, Photos, Quickpic and Video Player say they cannot play the video - and the same thing happens if I try to open any mpg video file stored locally on my phone.
I have another app called "Video Player for Android" (strangely enough) and that does play mpg files satisfactorily but as it doesn't appear in the "Complete Action Using" window I cannot use it to open files in Onedrive.
Is there any (easy) way I can get "Video Player for Android" to be included in the "Complete Action Using" menu?

@anticpated wrote:You may have to download the codec for some video playback and the author of MX Player obviously aren't contractially allowed to include it in the program by itself for some reason. Also Android has some constraints about what formats it can support.
Thanks @anticpated Won't pretend I understand all that - but at least I know where to come if any more problems arise.

For simplicity, if your operating system or can't understand a media format then you need a code-decoder (codec) to read the file format. When I used MX Player, I needed to download the extra software to play certain video formats.
Any happy videos....

Just for information and completeness @anticpated - I checked (using Application Manager) and noticed that in addition to the MXPlayer App there are indeed two MX Player Codecs listed, viz:- ARMv7 and ARMv7 NEON . So you were spot on!
