Using a UK phone in North America

Does anyone know if I can use my data in North America, for WhatsApp and using my phone to pay contactless? Thanks, Peter.

Yes you can use your phone in NA, to pay for stuff contactless as this doesnt require data to be on the device, and you can use your phone for Data as well. 

Costs will be tariff dependent and if you have Volt or not.
