Hi all, I purchased the above phone end of september 2014, about 3-4 weeks later i started having problems with wifi not automatically connecting once returning home from school runs or work. I spoke to O2 and they suggested it was a router problem as the only way i could reconnect wifi on phone was to reset the router. (my husband got the same make of phone on the same day and has had no problems at all with his) My phone was sent for repair in December but come back with having a software reflash done and no fault. It still continues to do it, I have to reset router every 1-2 days. We have computer, laptop, kindles, ipad and hubbys phone connected to wifi and no problems, I have tried a hard reset.
Anyone else had this problem and managed to resolve it?
thanks Cathy x

Of course it's your handset thus your personal choice who to use.
It's just that we typically suggest using the manufacturer support services as they know their hardware and software better.

Already tried forgetting network and re entering password and i just get the loop of messages and won't connect unless physically hitting reset on router, then it connects fine.

My iPad once had the same issue with my Bt Home hub 4 so I logged into the hubs wifi settings and changed channel frequency ,and turned smart switch on so it auto searches for the best wifi channel. That resolved this for me personally.

Thank you for your reply.
I just wanted to rule rule out that as a process of elimination.

Can you set a different security protocol on your router and try that?

Also change channel to best compatibility (or equivalent)
If you have the option, rename the 5ghz SSID band as they are both identically named and can cause problems as standard.
On your phone, go into wifi selection screen and click on the 3 dots, select advanced and turn on "auto ip support"
Turn off wifi optimisation.
Go back and long press your wifi network,
And click modify
Click on advanced
Go down to ip settings and make sure DHCP is set.
