You all know that the Sony’s new premier phone the Xperia Z2 is coming to O2 soon, with an exclusive Purple variant only on O2!

We all remember those iconic phone in the water pictures from the Z1, now Sony has done it again! That's right, it can float.

So if we have pre-ordered are we supposed to expect this on Thursday (May 1st)?

This is so frustrating. Does anybody know how I can get my delivery address changed? I won't be home Thursday or Friday. I don't want to miss delivery but at the moment I have no idea if it will even be this week.

Having an idea would be SO helpful so I can try to make sure someone is home but I can't say to them "I won't be around but can you stay at my house for a week or so on the off-chance there will be a delivery?"

Or, if I know the delivery date AND I could get the delivery address changed to wherever I'll be that day, that would be perfect.

Because currently I don't know when it's coming or where I'll be and could REALLY do with a heads-up so I can arrange my week accordingly.


Some of us have to work for a living, you see.

I get the impression from the above post that if you pre-ordered it online it will be dispatched for delivery on 1st May.

But other than the post above and this statement on the product page:

"We'll send it to you as soon as it's on sale - likely to be in the week commencing 28 April*. Check back for updates"

I have not seen any other official information, the lack of communication and updates is a little frustrating I must admit.  Will we receive a dispatched email notification or anything?  That would be helpful to plan for someone to be in for the delivery.

That post is the official update from o2, the website is known to be very poor at being updated @Chris_K

Ideally an email should go out to all that have pre-ordered updating them with the status of their order.  Not everybody will know to check the forums.

As Adam suggests in message 31 of this thread, please follow the other thread for official information on the Z2. At the moment however, my colleague Chris has posted all of the info we have currently. I'll leave this thread open, but its here to discuss the phone itself, rather than when pre-orders will arrive exactly

I have just had a online chat with O2 customer services only to be told that they were expecting their first stock of Black phones in today but they have not arrived and are now expected around the 8th May but that is only estimated and they could take longer.

This is getting to be a joke as I pre ordered this at the beginning of April.

Interesting, a guy on xda devs has been told by O2 his has been shipped out today as he wanted to change to store collection. He was told he couldn't as the phone had already been dispatched.

I got my Sony Z2 today from store. the sony website will still not allow us to order the tablet tho.
