My Dad recently got a PAYG from another provider and I found an S5 I paid the contract off for a few years back but it’s locked to O2.

I called customer services and was passed from pillar to post to no avail being told by each person they didn’t have access to that system as it was so long ago (2015/2016 maybe?). Got in touch with CS on Twitter/X and after providing the IMEI because the online form doesn’t work I’m told they can’t find the IMEI on the database… but it’s from O2?! I’m at a loss as to what to do now?

@Chrissywoody

It hasnt been seen for 9 years or so, and usually after upto 7 years it would still be there..

Go and find a local phone shop that does unlocking, or get a PAYG sim from o2 and put it the phone (you will have to top up the sim), make some calls and leave it on the network for a few weeks, and then try again to unlock it is another option...
