Update 22/10, 8:00:

Samsung has confirmed the Jelly Bean update is now available.

Update 20/10:

As you might have noticed, this hasn't gone live yet. We were expecting it to on Friday and are working with Samsung to figure out what went wrong and will update ASAP.

Original message:

Hey Guys,

Good news! The wait time is almost over for Samsung Galaxy SIII users. From tomorrow, 19th October '12, you'll be be able to upgrade to the much awaited 4.1 Jelly Bean update over Wi-Fi or via Kies.

If you have activated the 'auto-update' feature from out of box, you will be prompted to download the 4.1 Jelly Bean update.

JB

Your phone is an unbranded one, you will get an official update from Samsung later on this week. You could always flash it after downloading from Sammobile

My S3 says it's available for update. But my battery is really low. Shall I go ahead with the update or wait til it charges?? I'm so tempted XD

Depends on how low your battery is. If it cuts out mid update, you could brick the phone.

Well, When I pull it off charge it gives me a warning that my battery needs charging. I should have done this overnight. 😕

Anyway, does anyone know what the actual updates are, like a list of things that have been changed?

Although specifics of the GS3 4.1 Variant i'm unaware of.

The biggest impact is the removal of Flash Support by Adobe. You will only get flash now if you sideload the .apk or view websites with HTML5 support....
