I have an S6 on a Pay Monthly contract (via Carphone Warehouse) which is nearing it's end. I have contacted O2 to request a network unlock (via the chat service) but I am being told (twice now) that I must go to Carphone Warehouse to get it unlocked.
Carphone Warehouse tell me it's a job for O2 - the O2 website seems to back this up but the Chat advisors will not assist.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to who is correct and who is telling me fibs?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: I've just spotted a thread that seems to indicate that it may be because my phone is already unlocked. Is this likely? I will try to test it later, but I'll be a little annoyed if I've made contact with O2 3 times (the second of which I was told the unlock code was on it's way via email...) an Carphone Warehouse twice and no-one thought to mention this...

Phones are normally unlocked when you get them from CPW so yes, try another network sim. You can get free sims from any network online and no need to top them up. Don't get giffgaff or Tesco.
