Samsung Galaxy S4 not connecting/utilizing 4G.

Hey guys. Recently I travelled to London and while I was there I wanted to give 4G a go, but my phone would not connect and I marked it down to me being indoors at Earl's Court all day.

However, Birmingham, my home town is now 4G equipped and I am still not connecting to the network, is there a setting I need to enable on my phone or do I need to call O2 or something?

Thanks guys.

Hi radiocaf2 ,and welcome to the forum,

You can pick up a blank 4G Sim Card from your local o2 shop and perform the SwapMySim there, however until your tariff is changed you will not attain 4G speeds.

Check these links out for 4G on Refresh.

So it turns out O2 don't give you 4G on refresh plans, but I'm going to grab a 4G SIM later and see if I can get it for no extra cost, might be a case of false advertising if they expect me to change tariff or pay to have it added on as many, like myself, would have brought the phone expecting 4G due to the "4G Ready" picture they pace next to the phone on the store page of O2 refresh tariffs. Hope that's not the case though.
