STATUS Permanently Failed

I have a Moto G3 and until today I've been able to send SMS to any 'phone.

 

Today I get the response "***STATUS*** Permanently Failed" if I try to SMS an iPhone user. SMS to other androis devices are still OK.

 

This is new today.

 

I have deleted message threads, cleared the cache and rebooted the 'phone. It still fails.

I have seen this for the first time today and i have recived this on most of the contacts i have tired.

And again 3 times in quick succession.
Tried a reboot and still no change. This could be a long weekend...

having this issue for the first time, moved from apple to android when the oneplus 5 came out. love andriod and the phone, updated the os today and i am having troubles texting the wife. She's on GiffGaff, i can send to other numbers on other providers some including other giff gaff numbers! 

 

is there any clue how this is fixed?

We just have to wait for o2 to sort their servers out unfortunately.

Can't send SMS to other O2 users, iMessage fine and can receive SMS from O2 users, just get the "**status** permanently failed" message every time from about 2pm today

 I had problems yesterday have not tried it today,  you would think O2 would come out with an explanation .  Is anyone still have issues ?

Strangely no.
Sent lots this morning and not one problem.

Hi guys, thanks for reporting this again. We've queried about it and there was an issue with SMS over the weekend, however it should now be resolved.
