HI, can any one help solve my problem, i can not send or recive media messages. they wont down load and open or send. i have gone through all my settings and cant find anything that would affect it,,driving me mad, i have to get things emailled instead of text.

No real advantage except it's easier to use and the conversations are laid out without having to open emails and scrolling down. It's also instant. I prefer it when keeping in touch with family, the only downside is that all participents need to have the app installed.

Whatsapp is intended as a combined sms/mms service which works over a data connection. You can send pictures, files, videos in the same way as you would with email or sms/mms and for me replaces the sms/mms function on my phone. I use email for larger files and long stories etc. Pictures through whatsapp are not restricted to the pathetic 300k size that mms imposes and it doesn't require hours of messing with apn's to get it working. The only stipulation is that the person you are contacting needs to have it installed too but I don't know anyone with a smartphone that hasn't got it or heard of it.

Well there are four smartphone users in this house alone that don't use it slight_smile I don't know anyone at work who uses it either.

 

I am going to give it a try. I'll down load it now, and get herself to download it when she gets back from work. Far from convinced though, having read the summary and the reviews, that it will be of any benefit. Always willing to try things slight_smile

 

I'd estimate that 90% of the apps I have downloaded, have been uninstalled within one day. Some within less than 5 minutes.

 

But will give this a go for at least a month slight_smile

It was 1 out of 104 contacts. It is someone who I contact quite a bit, so we have already had a chat. It will be 2 out of 104 once she gets back from work!
