Dear All
My Sony Xperia SP becomes unresponsive when I call someone and it goes through to their voicemail. The screen goes black, I cannot disconnect and all I can do is remove the SIM card and restart - which becomes very tiresome. I have sent it to the o2 repair centre, which claimed there was no fault and returned it. The fault persists. I have ensured the software is up to date. o2 will do nothing apart from send it to be repaired again. Any suggestions? This phone is sending my stress levels through the roof.....

It just depends who deals with it, I would call 202, complain about the situation and returns and repairs can step in, you never know....worth a try... But make sure you tell the advisor the complete story and let them ring repairs and speak on your behalf ;). Worst case scenario, you waste your time...

Sell the phone and buy something else - You'll never fix it nor get anywhere with O2 repairs - I had the same issues with the same phone, and even I gave up in the end and bought a Z1 to replace the SP 😞

I remember years ago, Sony phones were always crashing when the handsets had hundreds of saved texts and emails on them. I'm going back a few years but deleting all these saved texts and emails stopped the handsets constantly crashing.
Is this the same for newer Xperia models? It might be worth a go?
Good luck

It was the 4.3 update that screwed the handset up and that was also the point that Sony decided they weren't going to update it any further - Result, a completely useless device unless you install a custom ROM which is very difficult on an O2 branded phone because of the locked bootloader..... but that's another long topic 😞

Not with the SP - I ran mine completely clean of anything and it still constantly crashed.

Not good and the ONLY exception are the compact z's, they are bloody brilliant too.
