Not Registered On Network - S3

Anonymous
Not applicable

I am in Dallas, US on business and have been using my work Samsung Galaxy S3 with no probelm until today when I am unable to send texts or make calls getting an error message "Not registered on network".

I have switched phone on/off, removed SIM card, I have also tried selecting different roaming network (AT&T and T-Mobile) but nothing works.

I also have a personal iPhone 4S which is working perfectly (also on O2).

Any ideas?

I am sometimes having the same problem here in Thailand with the S3. I've found that the only way to register on the network is to switch flight mode on and off. It then finds one of the local networks bgut loses it again after an hour or so. A pain but I'm not sure if it's the phone or the O2 sim card. I have a spare Nokia with a local sim card that never loses the network.

I don't think it's the phone as I had a similar problem with an iphone 6 months ago here so I'm more inclined to think it's an O2 problem and the roaming set-up.

Thanks MI5.

Stuck in a rut with this - its business phone so Im not allowed to ring so waiting for our IT team to ring and check but its not seen as a priority so could be waiting 48hours!

Its worked for 5 days so strange its all of a sudden stopped - especially as they know im a frequent traveller.

Thanks - have just tried but straight onto "Not registered on network".

Just not sure who to blame - both my phones are O2 - my colleagues arent suffereing with same problem so its just me.

I will be back in the UK before it gets resolved!

Crikey, these S3's don't seem to do well abroad! As MI5 knows, I had major problems with mine over last 2/52 in Spain... Slightly different to this post, as I got the network ok but mine kept disconnecting 2-3 mins into the call (Costing me 50p every time i had to ring again!) My old Motorola K1 on PAYG (same network) never dropped out at all. Incidentally  since i got back to UK S3 has been working fine...
