No internet access on my HTC Sense

Hi

I went into the O2 shop in York to renew my contract.  Did this all fine until I tired to connect to the internet, no can do. Message reads - Need network connection to use, pls turn on mobile data or Wi Fi in settings.  I have done this but still nothing.  It worked perfectly well before going into shop.

Yes, takes up to 24 hours but usually only takes few, you should be up and running later today, if not, contact us, or call O2.

What did you do to renew ?

What changed.

Are you still using the same SIM card and phone or has a sim swap been done as this can take up to 24 hours to settle.

Are you keeping your phone?

Can you send texts/make calls?

It's possible that the sim needs activating which can take up to 24 hours

Check your service status too as it may just be that.

If you can send SMS send one to 2020 with the word active.

This will send you all the details your phone needs.

If this still doesn't work then yes, it can take upto 24 hours for a SIM to activate fully.

Yes I have kept the phone so only new sim.  I will wait to see if it is activated after 24 hours, but it would have ben useful to have been told that it may take that long to be activated.

Yes I can make and receive calls and sent text messages.

Probably be better contacting CS as we do not have access to anyone's account details.

Let's think positive. wink

If the OP can make and receive calls and send texts then the new sim must be activated. Either the APN is wrong or they don't have mobile data turned on.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
