New Galaxy S3 unable to connect to BT wifi hotspot

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi guys

The contract with my new Galaxy S3 says I get unlimited access to BT wifi, trouble is I have never been able to get a conection, as anyone managed it.

i have been onto customer service who have been as much use as a chocolate tea pot.

i have lost count of the number of times I have texted wifi to 2121 and still I do not get a connection.

all I get when I try to join a BT wifi page is the standard BT page, should it not show an option to cone t through O2.  I know my username and password are correct but still no connection.

anyone know what's going on, or has anyone managed to connect to a by wifi hotspot.

thanks for any help with this.

Jeanette

Hi all

o2 are still assuring me that I should be able to connect to the BT-Wifi network and that on the landing page there should be an option to log on as an o2 customer, but every time I try I just get the standard BT landing page with no o2 logon option and obviously my o2 logon detail are rejected when I dry them.

this is the same regardless of what the hotspot says it is, BtOpenzon, BT-Wifi, BT-Wifi and Fone, its all the same no o2 customer log on.

I am going back to the shop I got the phone from with my paperwork which says unlimited wifi through BT Wifi to see what excuse they come up with on Monday.

As stated many many many times it's only the hotspots on the page that you have been directed to before that you can connect to with O2. For some reason BT have changed the name of their open wifi connections to the same as the ones that O2 can connect to but they are not the same......
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Try the answers you have already been given in your other thread and you'll know exactly what to do:

I am having exactly the same problem. Landing page asks for log in under the three BT options but no mention of o2........... annoying to say the least.

Yes but it says connected in the wifi bit on my phone - I just cannot log in?  - So do I forget it and go to roaming?

If you get directed to the BT landing page it's not an O2 wifi hotspot. They have to be the ones listed in the directory as O2 hotspots.
