My phone is the Sony Xperia E. When I connect to the internet using wifi, I check my data usage to find that my data has been used up when it shouldn't have been. I tried disabling data traffic whilst leaving my phone connected to the internet by wifi, but this leaves me unable to load webpages with my browser just telling me "Web page not available" advising me to check my device has a signal and data connection. I have tried asking the 02 online advisors about this and they were extremely unhelpful. What do I do to stop my data being used?

When I'm at home I turn off 3G and mobile data ,and turn on wifi.
This forces my iPhone 5 to only use my home broadband connection.
This should be the same process for all mobile phones.

It sounds as though your wifi isn't set up corrctly if you can't access pages when mobile data is off. Make sure you are using the correct password (case sensitive)
