I can see its an interesting technical exercise but I can't see why would you want to run a distro on a phone! On a tablet maybe but even then, I'd be questioning what would the benefit be as the optimisation would be poor. Meh, someone's having fun anyway!

There was going to be the Ubuntu Touch handset which was an ambitious project. The actual specification of the proposed mobile phone would be phenomonal at that time and only for really committed people.
Each handset was to be prepaid and built to order, feature Sapphire Crystal Glass as a protective covering - the same material used on expensive timepieces and DSLR lens.

It's a difficult market to break into where profit is usually dominant factor over user desires. The drip-feeding of technology over the years is very evident however there is hope. The Nexus platform was a test bed for early versions of Ubuntu Touch though.
