In call vibrations

HI,

I have an android phone, nothing fancy, just one to do me day to day. I've had sim cards from 3 and virgin in use, and it has been perfectly fine. I receive my o2 sim the other day, and during any calls in or out,  the sound is very fuzzy, as though its vibrating really fast. The other 2 networks were fine so I dont see why it would affect it if on o2, apart from, i'm not sure the other 2 were 4g. As far as i'm aware, that was only for speed of internet and surely that would not affect the call quality, as it should just work on standard 3g service? Any help appreciated.

Hi

You are quite correct.

When a call is connected the phone drops from 4G to 3G and lower.

What does your service status say by inputting your postcode here http://status.o2.co.uk

Does this happen everywhere or just in one place.

If it's good then you could ;

Clean the sim.

Replace the sim via a sim swap at an O2 store ,or have one posted to you and perform the swap at home via http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk

Download the MYNETWORK app and report the masts If they are showing as good.

Try switching to 2g only to see if it improves.
Also try different areas, if you can, to see if it's restricted to one cell tower.

Thx, the signal all showing good. It happens everywhere not just 1 place. Would a sim clean be required when it's just a new sim that's in? Everyone else on O2 gets great coverage and as I said on 2 other networks it's fine but as soon as the O2 sim went in it changed. I'll try the clean and see how it goes, thamks

Static can build up on SIM cards causing various issues so it's worth a shot.

It certainly is a conundrum as the phone appears to be fine as you use other Network Sims in it without issue.

Let's hope it's a glitch and resolves itself.

Take care.
