I'm with BT and have not come across being charged like this.

Why not creare another Yahoo e mail address from one of your sub e mails thats available to you or create a hotmail one for example.

What operating system do you have.

What Security suite are you using.

Are you sure it was Bt and not a third party you spoke to who are trying to get you to buy their support.

Its hard sometimes but pc's can be cleaned by the owner.

If the email address is 'compromised' then create a new one.

Hopefully you haven't fallen for a scam (one of which was recently going around in an email).
I suggest you cease all contact with this person, disconnect your computer from the internet and run a competent virus and malware scan immediately.
If you are not confident of doing this yourself, seek an expert computer repair shop's help.

The way the scam works is that they have changed your email password so you can't access your emails.

By allowing them access to your PC they have now downloaded a programme that they can remotely control your PC from theirs.

It is definately now accessible to hackers unfortunately it's the guy you've been talking too...... 😞

Possibly by asking the OP to pay for support they then have their credit/debit card details too if indeed this is a scam.

Maybe Speaking to BT broadband support and name drop this security firm to see if it is part of them.

My father in law had the email and clicked the link to see where it would go. It was a very plausible BT log in page (he didn't log in). Anyone logging in on this page has given away their username and password which then gets changed immediately and so locks you out of your own BT account.
What follows next is a world of pain and expense to sort out and it should certainly be reported to BT as they will no doubt wish to investigate (this is hurting many people) and they will also reinstate your account and reset your security details.
That just leaves the user to clean their infected PC.
