Google Nexus 7 - connecting query

Anonymous
Not applicable

I am about to buy a Nexus 7 and have a couple of queries if anyoine can help me?  Should I go for the wifi only or wifi plus 3G

Secondly, anyone know the best/cheapest way to connect?  I will not have wifi at the house I am moving to.  I have seen the o2 pocket wifi advertised and so wonder if this would be a good way to connect with the nexus, or would it be better to go the 3G route with a monthly contract?  I don't particularly want a home phone just the internet connection.  Any ideas please???

For a difference of £40 between wifi only and 3G models, it makes much more sense to go for the 3G model. At least then you have the option. If you're only interested in data for the tablet you can get a very inexpensive data only sim from GiffGaff. http://giffgaff.com/goodybags#data

If you go for fibre BB you can have it independently of a phone line, but you must be in a cabled area. Obvious providers that spring to mind are Virgin, Plus Net etc. Your choice of tablet depends on how much you want to spend but a 3G version with a Giffgaff SIM would be a cheap data option.

Surely it is much more economical to simply tether your tablet to your phone? O2 says it is possible but doesn't give you any help - I think they want to sell you another tariff (Giff Gaff is also Telefonica).

The problem with using your phone to tether is that you will use your data allowance very quickly, hence the suggestion to get an unlimited giffgaff sim for £12.50 a month or a 3 sim for £15 a month.
